Waltham Forest Council is looking to build on our successes and realise the huge potential of our people and the opportunities we face.

The opportunities are real and unique, from a new university campus, £300million new shopping centre, building 10,000 new homes over the next ten years, bringing a much-loved 950-seat theatre back into use and a new hospital at Whipps Cross.

But the challenges are equally demanding, from 45 per cent of our children living in poverty, finding new ways to tackle the housing crisis and our ethnicity and gender pay gaps, to creating an authority as diverse as the people we serve, we need people that thrive in creating solutions and unlocking potential.

But we are building on strong foundations. As the first ever Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture, MJ Local Authority of the Year 2019 and with a young population bursting with energy, it’s an exciting time to be part of an area on the brink of transformation.

We need people that can find new ways of delivering services, and ensure our growth is sustainable and benefits everyone. 

Director of Customer Strategy & Digital - £120,978 - £127,235 p.a (Closing date: Wednesday 19th October 2022)

In this new role, reporting to our new Deputy Chief Executive you will create and drive organisational transformation in terms of our approach to the customer, and act as a champion and voice of the resident in the Council. You will lead our journey away from traditional processes to more modern ways of working, including leadership of the digital service provision
